There are 12 months that make up one whole year. Each has its own special date whether a birthday, holiday or any special occasion. A month is a unit of time that was first invented in Mesopotamia and is still used today in our calendar. The concept was based on the cycle of moon phases and each month would last for 29.53 days. There are 30 or 31 days in each month with the exception of February. Every year would start of in January for this will mark the special holiday called “new year”. February is the second month and it has the fewest number of days since it only has 28. In a leap year, it would end up having 29 days. March is the third in line and would mark the start of spring. April is the month that people would have to play jokes on you because April 1st is April fools day. May is the last month of spring season and it would usually mean that summer’s on its way. June is the 6th month and would be the halfway mark of the year and would welcome summer. July is known for the United States of America’s Independence Day. It would fall on the 5th of July. August is the last month of summer season. We all know what comes after that – school. These months make up the whole summertime. In some places, they may experience the summer heat where the people are hitting the beach in their swimsuits.

The months September to November is the Autumn season. November is known for all hallows eve or Halloween. This is dedicated to those who are departed. Winter can be experienced from December up to February. Snowfall is usually experienced during this season.
